Sorry... Guide Dogs for the Blind have discontinued this scheme

Accolade participated in this scheme for many years. This page is kept for historical purposes.

For every recyclable inkjet cartridge returned, Guide Dogs received £1.00. Inkjet cartridges suitable for recycling are made by Canon, HP and Lexmark. Sorry - not Epson cartridges as these cannot be recycled by GDBA. Epson inkjets and most other cartridges can be recycled by Armor who "re-manufacture" inkjet and laser cartridges rather than just refill them.

Accolade used to collect empty laser cartridges when delivering our low cost, eco-friendly office supplies in the Glasgow area. We batch returned cartridges and sent them in bulk to save transport costs. Guide Dogs for the Blind benefited from any revenue raised as did Erskine Hospital. Accolade has been donating to Guide Dogs for the Blind Association since 1989 and to Erskine Hospital since 1997.

Guide Dogs is a Charity Registered in England & Wales # 209617 and Scotland # SCO38979 Guide Dogs is a working name for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Registered Office: Hillfields, Burghfield Common, Reading RG7 3YG. WILLFUL WASTE MAKES WOEFUL WANT !

Save energy by reducing your cartridge waste sent to landfill sites. Inkjet cartridges are non-biodegradable, taking up to 1,000 years to decompose. Manufacturing a new inkjet cartridge takes 6 pints of oil, draining natural resources. Each year, 60 million used inkjet printer cartridges are needlessly thrown away. Avoid the need to burn rubbish which releases harmful toxins into the air. Recycling cartridges helps the environment and safeguards our health.
